About Boise Soap Co.
Boise Soap Co.'s line of liquid glycerin soaps are made with simple, all-natural, non-toxic ingredients. They are produced in the tradition of castile soaps, which are made from saponified soft vegetable oils (traditionally olive). Our blend of soft oils, glycerin and essential oil scents produces mild but effective soaps for hand and body washing, as well as for all-purpose cleaning. Boise Soap Co. does not use any chemical foaming agents or additives.
Our liquid soaps are safe and sustainable. In addition to reprocessing what would otherwise be considered "waste" vegetable oil (WVO), we've designed our manufacturing process to conserve water and energy. Our soaps are versatile and contain only a few all-natural ingredients--our waste stream is minimal and our product is biodegradable. In addition, it is our policy to source essential and vegetable oils from local farmers and producers whenever possible. Our lavender essential oil, for instance, is grown on a family-owned organic farm only 2 hours away in Buhl, Idaho (http://www.valleyviewlavenderfarm.com/). Much of the WVO we use to brew biodiesel, which provides the glycerin byproduct for our soaps, comes from a highly sustainable restaurant in downtown Boise (http://www.justeatlocal.com/bittercreek/). When you purchase soap from Boise Soap Co., you help us support local businesses and their efforts to promote sustainability in our community. |
